This Indiana Flower Farm Just Launched a Website & Subscriptions—Here’s How

A local grower wanted an easy way to sell flowers online. We helped her build a Square site that makes ordering a breeze.

Hi there,

This week, we're spotlighting a beautiful new Square Online site we launched for LeAnne with Local Stems Farm in Boggstown, IN.

Here’s a little bit about her story:

"I have been a lifelong gardener and love to work outside. Over the last six years, I’ve learned about native landscapes and the pollinators that keep our ecosystem thriving. That knowledge—along with inspiration from @FloretFlower on Instagram—pushed me to start a farm."

Tori and I started working on LeAnne’s website a couple of months ago, but life happens, and unfortunately, her family experienced a loss. We took a step back, and when she was ready, we helped her launch last week.

The result? A beautiful, functional site that truly represents her farm. (Shoutout to her daughter’s boyfriend for the amazing photos!)

This Week’s Question:
How can I create a flower subscription for my business?

LeAnne and I hopped on Zoom to set up her flower subscriptions. She was inspired by this business: Bokenkotter Blooms, which offers a simple, structured subscription model.

Square gives you two great ways to set up subscriptions:

1 - The Product-Based Approach

Like the example she shared, you can create a product listing with details in the description, such as:

"During this Spring subscription, you will enjoy 3 weeks of blooms..."

With this setup, customers pay once for a set number of bouquets. You can then use modifiers and variations for options like bouquet size, pickup location, or delivery preferences.

2 - The Recurring Subscription Model

If you want an ongoing subscription with automatic recurring payments, Square makes it easy. For example, instead of charging $50 one-time for a bouquet, you could offer a three-month subscription at $45 per month, billed automatically.

You can set subscriptions to:

  • End after a specific number of payments (e.g., a 3-month plan)

  • Continue indefinitely until the customer cancels
