Campaign Websites for Two Latinas Seeking Re-Election in Vancouver, WA – Plus How to Accept Donations Online
How we launched two Squarespace sites for local changemakers—and how you can accept donations using Square.

Hi there,
This week I’m excited to share two new candidate sites for two people who mean a lot to me:
Sandra Zavala, my childhood friend, is running for re-election to our local school board.
Diana Perez, my mentor and friend, is running for re-election to Vancouver City Council—and she’s also the first Latina ever elected to our city council! 💪🏽
I love what I do because it's not just about building websites for businesses—it’s also about supporting changemakers like Sandra and Diana.
Projects like these remind me I’m not just designing for clicks. I’m helping create real impact in my community.
We launched both of their sites in just three days, keeping the layout clean, simple, and easy for them to manage themselves on Squarespace.
No custom graphics or fancy extras—just solid, functional websites that are ready to work.
This Week’s Question: How Do I Accept Donations on Square?
Both Sandra and Diana needed an easy way to collect campaign donations—a common need not just for candidates, but for nonprofits and small businesses too.
For Sandra’s site, we used this Squarespace form to gather required info (like employment details), then redirected users to this PayPal link to complete their donation.
For Diana, she was already set up with this Anedot, so we simply linked to her donation page through a call-to-action button on the site.
If you're using Square, you can easily setup donations and
✔️ Accept one-time or recurring donations
✔️ Set fundraising goals
✔️ Use Square Payment Links to share donation options anywhere
Here’s a quick tutorial I made on how to set it up:
